How it works
An informational comparison platform
GunConfig.com surfaces listings, prices, and visual previews. Licensed retailers handle the actual sale, age verification, FFL transfer, shipping, and returns.
Browse listings
Search across categories from firearms to ammo to range bags. Each listing shows specs, retailer prices, and a placeholder visual.
Compare or build
Use the configurator to layer compatible parts and preview how a setup would look. Compatibility hints are informational only.
Click out to a retailer
When you're ready, you leave GunConfig.com. The licensed retailer handles checkout, age and identity checks, FFL transfer, shipping, and any returns.
What we are
GunConfig.com is an independent firearm gear comparison and visualization platform. Our role is informational: we list products, surface retailer prices, and provide a configurator that helps you preview a setup.
We earn revenue exclusively through affiliate commissions from outbound clicks to licensed retailers. We do not handle payments, hold inventory, or serve as a marketplace for private sellers.
What we are not
- We are not a firearm dealer or FFL holder.
- We are not a marketplace or peer-to-peer seller.
- We do not arrange or facilitate firearm transfers.
- We do not provide gunsmithing or assembly instructions.
- We do not host or distribute downloadable CAD, STL, or 3D printing files for firearms or firearm parts.
- We are not affiliated with any specific brand or manufacturer unless explicitly stated on a given page.
- We are not legal advisors.
How firearm purchases ship
In the United States, firearms are generally sold through Federal Firearms License (FFL) holders. When you purchase a firearm online from a licensed retailer:
- The retailer collects payment and order information.
- You select an FFL near you to receive the firearm. The retailer ships to that FFL.
- The receiving FFL processes a federal background check (Form 4473) and any state-level requirements before transferring the firearm to you in person.
- Returns and warranty issues are handled directly with the retailer or manufacturer.
Non-firearm accessories typically ship directly to the buyer. Some accessories — including certain magazines, stocks, and ammunition — are subject to state-level restrictions. Always confirm legality before ordering.
Why laws vary by state
Firearm-related laws are layered: federal law, state law, and sometimes county or city ordinances all apply. What is legal in one state may be restricted, modified, or prohibited in another. Common state-level differences include:
- Magazine capacity limits.
- Restrictions on certain features (collapsible stocks, flash hiders, vertical grips, etc.).
- Ammunition purchase requirements and ID verification.
- Permit, registration, or roster requirements.
- Restrictions on specific firearm models or configurations.
Use any “state restriction” warnings on this site as a starting point only. Consult a qualified firearms attorney or your local licensing authority for an authoritative answer.
Compatibility, fitment, and visual previews
Our configurator's visual previews are stylized approximations, not engineering drawings. Real-world fitment depends on the exact variant, mounting hardware, and accessory revisions — which can change between production runs.
We do not certify that a build is compatible, safe, or legal. Always confirm with the retailer, manufacturer, and applicable laws before purchasing.
